People who don’t use internet for learning are seen struck with old fashioned and out dated ideas and techniques. Every day new technology emerges and if we lack in knowing how to handle it, we really don’t fit in the society. The only best way to keep yourself updated with new ideas and knowledge is through browsing online.
Meeting professors and teachers personally is hard, but they can be easily available online.
You as a teacher might be having a good time to browse internet. You might be learning a new things daily. But do you keep your students updated more than what’s explained in the textbook. Or you just make your students learn what’s prescribed in textbook, which has been revised long time back?

In schools, students are provided with assignment and project work mainly to explore beyond the book. Whole day students are engaged in the classroom and they hardly get time to explore beyond the concept taught by the teachers. So when are they going to do the assignment? From where are they going to explore more? Visiting library could be the one. But, does our school library have enough books to support their assignment? Therefore, largest source of information is none other than from internet. It is important to keep IT lab open in free hours and especially in weekends to help students in writing their project work and assignment. Provided your lab have internet connectivity.

Now a days students are much smarter than their teachers. They always find some means to know more. To learn more. They really don’t get satisfied with what teachers taught in the classroom. May be because they are not really convinced. May be because they want to know more on certain topics. So, it’s not fair to keep our students strictly based on what teacher teaches them. Every school should provide an opportunity for the students to explore more information by themselves. So that they become more knowledgeable and talented.
Keeping IT lab open in weekends and free time will help them to browse more information as per their thrust in learning new things. Be it academic or co-curricular activities.
To keep students engaged.
In olden days, student engaged themselves in playing games, going swimming, and sleeping and now a days, maximum students use drugs and engage in gang fights especially in weekends. It is mainly because mobile phones are not allowed in high schools and had a hard time keeping themselves engaged. If the labs are kept open even in weekends, they can always come and browse internet, watch movie online, use social networking, meet their parents and family online, etc…… we can always help them to engage positively.
To substitute teacher in weekends for learning and solving doubts.
Keeping IT lab opened in weekends will surely substitute teachers in solving their doubt instantly in more effective ways. Student can go to lab and find for the solution online in absence of teacher. Keeping IT lab open in weekends will surely bring drastic changes in students’ performance.
when mobile phones are prohibited in schools, labs should be kept open even on weekends and holidays.
